Our Prepare in a Year program helps you get ready for disasters, like large-scale earthquakes that isolate us from outside help for weeks or longer. By tackling one simple task per month, you can get your household in good shape by the end of a year. The task for July is to make sure you have a plan to get back together again If you are apart from your family when disaster strikes.

Bainbridge Prepares Founder Scott James and Kari Seybolt-Murphy, Team Lead for our Child Safety and Reunification Team, will be the guests of the next Peacock Family Services’ Partners for Early Learning Workshop Series. James, Seybolt-Murphy, and other BP team members will address the topic of how to prepare families and child caregivers and teachers for large-scale emergencies.

Last Sunday evening, March 24, Bainbridge Prepares hosted a Child Safety and Reunification Town Hall to address the issue of child reunification in disasters on the Island.

The Bainbridge Prepares Child Safety and Reunification Town Hall happens tomorrow March 24, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

We all know an earthquake will eventually hit the greater Seattle area. If that happens during the school day, the Bainbridge Prepares partnership - in conjunction with local child-centric organizations - has developed an islandwide child reunification plan.

More than 5,000 kids attend school, day care, or other programs on Bainbridge. On any given day, a good percentage of the parents/caretakers of those children may be working off island. What happens if on a school day a disaster occurs that shuts down the bridge and ferry system?
